Resources

Resources:

Below are some links and general helpful websites that may assist you along the way if you also decide to untertake and create either a spectrum analyzer and/or a magnetic resonance guitar. More will be added as this project progresses.

Programming: (FPGA)

A couple of tutorials  on how to get started with programming and working with you FPGA circuits.

Mojo

https://embeddedmicro.com/tutorials/mojo

Know nothing about FPGA's. Well this website is chock full of tutorials that will get you started and on your way to learning how to properly program one. These are specific for Mojo FPGA's but the same coding and principles can be applied to other ones as well.

Pickups:

Sound on Sound

https://www.soundonsound.com/sos/sep08/articles/guitartech_0908.htm

This may not be too relevant, but this goes over a guide on magnetic pickups and what may be useful for design of the electromagnets and how they are assembled.

Linear Track

Arthur Guy

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGCxUjjvIBk

This helpful video is what we are basing our idea of a linear track on. This is a good starting point for working out a linear track design.

Slides for Guitars:

Acoustic Guitar:

http://acousticguitar.com/how-to-choose-a-slide/

To guarantee that our instrument has a nice sustained sound,  the perfect amount of pressure and the right slide will need to be implemented. Here is a sort of trivial guide to picking a slide for your guitar during this project.

Magnetic Resonance Guitar:

Lofaro Labs: Mr.G

http://wiki.lofarolabs.com/index.php/Magnetic_Resonator_Guitar_(MR.G)

http://lofarolabs.com/projects/mrg/

Both of these links are to a project by Lofaro Labs that created a magnetic resonance guitar that can be played. On their wiki and website are CAD design files along with the circuit designs they used when creating their guitar. It is quite interesting to read and will help you get started and provide some understanding behind the science of this project.
